Assistant Director for Career Development (SUA 2)

Reporting to the Director of the Twardowski Career Development Center, the Assistant Director is responsible for providing services and programs that support student and alumni success and enrich the experiences of individuals as they plan their careers and pursue employment or further educational opportunities. Maintains a regular appointment and drop-in schedule with students and alumni to provide individual and small group assistance with career planning and development issues, including use and interpretation of career assessments. Plans, organizes, and delivers career-related programs focused on the needs of first-year and sophomore students choosing or changing majors, as well as transfer, Liberal Studies, and Pre-Major students exploring and formulating career goals. Designs, schedules, and facilitates presentations on career-related topics such as resume and cover letter writing, interviewing, networking, job search strategies, workplace professionalism, and graduate/professional school. Directs planning and delivery of outreach for/with student organizations. Manages the center's Mock Interview Program and conducts outreach to faculty and campus groups to cultivate participation. Serves as the point person for developing and managing programs/resources for students that foster linkages with alumni and other professionals to engage students in networking, informational interviewing, and job shadowing. Guides students and alumni on identifying and researching potential employers, writing cover letters and resumes, job interviewing, and business attire. Coordinates student usage of technologies associated with career development including but not limited to College Central Network, D2L, FOCUS, and GoingGlobal. Reviews/critiques resumes, cover letters, application essays, and other job search application materials. Coordinates the development and dissemination of promotional and publicity materials, including the use of networking/social media tools. Contributes to the ongoing evaluation and assessment of programs and services, including student learning outcomes. Some occassional evening hours required.

Requirements: Master's degree in higher education/student affairs, counselor education, or closely-related discipline. Minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in career services in a university/college setting. Established record of providing career development support and guidance in individual and group interactions, including use of career assessment tools. Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as career services management software and social media tools. Ability and disposition to interact favorably with diverse groups of students, alumni, faculty, and external publics.

Starting salary is $43,599. Excellent benefits package including tuition fee waiver for self and dependents. Applicants must successfully complete interview process to be considered as a finalist. Anticipated start date for this position is late spring/early summer. The filling of this position is contingent upon available funding.

Assistant Director of Career Development

Immaculata University seeks an experienced, motivated professional to assume the role of Assistant Director of Career Development. The Assistant Director is a member of the student development and engagement staff reporting directly to the Director of Career Development. The Assistant Director is responsible for the implementation of Title III career-related initiatives, including the development of new programming, expansion of existing services, development of relationships and collaborations with other departments on campus (i.e. - Academic Advising and Academic Success) in order to create a successful Pathways Success Center. Candidates should possess a Master's degree in Counseling, Student Personnel, or related field. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience providing career development services in a higher education setting and possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
