The College of William & Mary is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Director/Internship Coordinator in the Cohen Career Center. This position will focus specifically on managing and growing the internships program, and overseeing the Local Internship Program and the consortial UCAN Database. This position also advises students on available internship opportunities and helps them acquire internships appropriate to their goals. Position also:

• Identifies internship employers, solicits their involvement in our internship program, and acquires their internship materials for constituents. Develops, organizes, and maintains the internship section of the Cohen Career Center website.

• Utilizes current system to advertise important internships with urgent deadlines. Develops internship information handouts. Keeps staff informed about new internship opportunities. Evaluates program and implements improvements. Oversees program assessment and evaluation.

• Additional responsibilities include co-teaching the 1st & 2nd Year Career Experience Series.

• In addition, this position also serves as a generalist for the Career Center.

A Master’s Degree in Counseling, Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related field is required, as well as 1-2 years of experience in a college career services office.
Knowledge of student development and career development theory and practice; career counseling skills; effective oral and written communication skills; technological proficiency; proven ability to establish rapport with students, faculty, alumni, employers and staff colleagues.

The Assistant Director/Internship Coordinator position is a hybrid of internship program management, career advising, and employer relations. All members of the Cohen Career Center team are generalists and share responsibilities for advising, workshops, program implementation, and project management.
