Alumni Relations Associate

Seton Hill University seeks to fill this full time position in support of the development, implementation and evaluation
of programs that serve all alumni and friend constituencies with a special focus on the Career Connections program.
The Alumni Relations Associate will maintain the online web pages for the Alumni Advisory Council. Through
effective relationship building efforts, the Associate works to strengthen and enhance engagement and fund raising
efforts among Seton Hill alumni and friends by increasing awareness of Seton Hill. In addition, the Alumni Relations
Associate supports all alumni and campus event planning and special projects as needed by Institutional Advancement
and Alumni Relations. This position reports directly to the Director of Alumni Relations.
A Bachelor’s degree required. Two years of related work experience in special events coordination, fund raising and/or
marketing. Ability to manage volunteers effectively and projects efficiently. Effective written and oral communication
skills. Familiarity with budget process. Effective use of Microsoft Office, MAC software, social media. Experience
with alumni databases preferred. Ability to manage time and priorities required. Work in collaboration with colleagues,
and demonstrate sensitivity to all needs and requests.
Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Assists in developing, implementing and evaluating communications that support Alumni Relations
engagement efforts to include events, programs, volunteer recruitment and relationship building and
fundraising initiatives for alumni and friends.
• Assists in developing, implementing and evaluating Alumni Advisory Board events and meetings to include
GOLD alumni programming.
• Manages information using the alumni database; handles data entry including event planning and alumni news
data into the Raiser’s Edge system.
• Manages distribution of information within NetCommunity via email regarding upcoming events, programs
and News from the Hill.
• Oversees student work-study and volunteer training for office support and special events.
• Supports the Institutional Advancement staff as a member of prospect management team by managing a small
portfolio of young alumni with development potential as it relates to alumni/friend events and programs.
• Oversees design and maintenance of the Alumni web pages, including informational pages for events and
tracking of event registrations.
• Identifies and recruits volunteers for Alumni Weekend, special reunion and/or homecoming events and
regional events.
• Coordinates with the Director of the Annual Fund the recruitment of Reunion Chair volunteers for Alumni
Weekend.
• Assists in producing written materials including correspondence, invitations, and promotional pieces as they
relate to events.
• Collect class news online and in print to include contact with the class news agents, posting to RE for later
entry to class news supplement. Oversees final submission for Forward Class News supplement. Verify all
class news.
• Implements and maintains a social media plan for communication of all alumni event and program related
information in collaboration with the alumni director
