Penn State Lehigh Valley, located in Center Valley, PA, is accepting applications for a full-time Career Services Counselor to provide career counseling and coaching services to Penn State Lehigh Valley students. The Career Counselor specializes in assisting individuals in the development of career-life plans that include the exploration of career identity and career possibilities, the formulation of career development goals, and the development of skills and strategies for achieving career/vocational goals; provides career counseling to undergraduate and graduate students, alumni, and Penn State employees; and also serves as a resource to all academic and student service units. The Career Counselor will also aid learners in resume and cover letter writing, interview skills, and internship/job search plans and strategies, in both group and individual settings. Demonstrated experience using technology and online communication platforms including career management systems a plus. The successful candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills and organizational ability, must be able to communicate clearly and accurately both verbally and in writing (including the development and delivery of materials for presentations), and have the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff of diverse cultural backgrounds. The successful candidate should also demonstrate initiative, high energy, and an ability to work in a fluid environment with shifting priorities.
