Keystone College invites applications for the position of Director of Career Development. The College seeks an experienced professional to oversee career development, employment recruitment, and graduate/professional school application programs for students and alumni.

The College: Founded in 1868, Keystone College is a leading, comprehensive, student-centered college educating students in the liberal arts and sciences tradition. An independent, co-educational college, Keystone provides distinctive undergraduate programs grounded in an engaging learning environment that fosters integrity, curiosity, and civility. Enrolling nearly 1,700 students, Keystone offers more than 40 degree options in liberal arts and sciences based programs in business, communications, education, fine arts, natural science, environmental resource management, geology, and social sciences. Keystone College students receive a comprehensive education with active and engaged learning opportunities that stimulate interests, improve skills, and ensure career readiness. The College offers 19 Division III intercollegiate sports programs for men and women.

The La Plume Community: Keystone College is nestled among shady trees on a 270-acre tract at the gateway to the Endless Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania. The campus is 15 miles northwest of Scranton, on U.S. Routes 6 and 11. Interstate Routes 380, 80, 81, 84, and 476 provide easy access to Keystone from all directions. Close to Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, and Binghamton, all the facilities of three modern cities are available to Keystone students, yet the College is surrounded by small towns and countryside and has the close and welcoming learning atmosphere of a rural campus. In addition, Philadelphia and New York are two hours away, and Boston and Washington, D. C. are within five hours drive time.

Northeastern Pennsylvania provides a stimulating and enjoyable environment for Keystone. The area boasts warm weather from May through September, brisk autumn days with brilliant foliage, and snowy winters pleasing to devotees of cold-weather sports. Opportunities for hiking, fishing, bicycling, swimming, and skiing are abundant.

Responsibilities: The Director of Career Development reports directly to the Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, supervises the Career Development Center (CDC) staff, including the Assistant Director of Career Development and the Coordinator of Career Outreach, and works closely and collaboratively with other Student Affairs offices, Alumni Engagement, faculty departments, and other areas of the campus community to implement career programming across campus.

Requirements: The successful candidate will possess a master's degree in counseling, higher education administration, or related area as well as 3-5 years of professional experience in career services in a higher education setting. Knowledge of career and student development theory strongly preferred, as well as strong communication, organizational, management, and technology skills. Familiarity with career assessment and education planning systems as well as online resume development programs also preferred.
