Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, Division of Undergraduate Studies, is seeking an academic adviser to work with its enrollment of exploratory pre-major students. Primary responsibilities included working one-on-one with students during the normal academic year by providing professional evaluation and assistance with educational and academic opportunities. Additional duties include working with the incoming class of students during the summer counseling and advising program, New Student Orientation (NSO), and conducting outreach (training, workshops, committee work, etc.) to student, faculty, staff, and other members of the campus community. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Academic advising experience in a collegiate setting. The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment as a part of a strongly student oriented team. The candidate selected should be familiar with Microsoft Office and the use of e-mail.
