Job Summary

The Assistant Director/Career Consultant will work closely with and under the supervision of the Senior Associate Director for Career Consultants to provide career counseling to students and alumni on career exploration, professional development, internship and job search preparation, and post-graduation career planning needs. The incumbent will also work with the Employer Development team to develop and implement a comprehensive employer development and outreach plan that engages recruiters from various sectors and industries. The incumbent will also undertake individual or committee projects in order to accomplish specialized goals as determined by the administration.

The ideal candidate will possess an in depth understanding and application of college recruitment and employer development; knowledge of career development and student development theories; ability to develop, plan, market, and implement innovative employer and student-oriented programs; ability to interact with students from a wide range of backgrounds; ability to function competently in a team environment; ability to interact effectively with campus community and external customers; ability to set and to achieve goals; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; excellent analytical, organizational, budgeting, reasoning, and problem solving skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; computer literacy; ability to maintain accurate and detailed records. Due to the nature of the position, evening and weekend hours may be required. Some travel may be involved.


Master's Degree in a related field (i.e. College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Design, Architecture)

Two or more years of experience in a college career services, architecture, design, human resources, or college recruitment

Valid Driver's License

Working knowledge of recruitment databases (i.e. NACELINK/ Symplicity)

Proven record of multicultural and global competence, understanding of design and architecture portfolios preferred
