Saint Vincent College seeks applications for a Part-Time Career Consultant. This position will provide programs and services regarding all career development for the undergraduate and graduate students and alumni of SVC. Consults students on career plans. Plans, implements, and assesses programs and services as they relate to students, alumni, faculty, administrators, and employers. Serves as a counselor for the business majors. Assists Director in all areas as needed. This position is a part-time position for approximately 12-14 hours per week for 38 weeks throughout the year (about 530 hours). Flexible schedule


Education: Bachelor’s degree required in a business or counseling field. Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience: 2-3 years of experience working with employers or students. Prefer a background in career services at a post-secondary institution or 3-5 years in an education or higher education setting.

1. Support the overall operations of the Career Center including all services, programs, and support for undergraduate and graduate students and alumni relating to counseling, planning, testing, internships, graduate and professional school, career exploration, resume reviews, and internship and full-time job search.
2. Serves as the consultant for the business majors and first year undeclared majors.
3. Assist the Director with the overall strategy for the delivery and implementation of career services that supports the broader mission of the College and meets institutional and departmental goals, objectives, and benchmarks. This includes strategies as they relate to programs and services that include, but are not limited to, career exploration, testing, counseling services, job fairs and job placement, technology and software, on-campus recruiting, and community development.
4. Participate and support the assessment of all career-related programs and services as they relate to the broader mission of the College in general and Student Affairs in particular.
5. Maintain, in concert with the Director, working relationships with employers to promote the use of career related services.
6. Assist in collection of data for First Destination Survey.

Works with director to insure effective planning for the infrastructure and staffing appropriate to the needs of student and alumni career development.
Works with Career Center team to ensure excellent service to Saint Vincent students, alumni, employer and other constituents.
Provide other services, and perform other tasks, as requested or assigned by the Director.
