Admissions and Student Affairs Officer
Office of Admissions and Student Affairs, University at Albany School of Public Health

Working closely with the Assistant Dean for Admissions and Student Affairs, this position provides programmatic and administrative support for admissions, recruitment, and student affairs activities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Respond to queries from prospective students by email, phone and in person
• Manage the electronic prospect management system
• Represent the School of Public Health at selected graduate school fairs; assist with on campus and virtual information sessions and open houses; assist with accepted student events
• Assist with the execution of the School’s recruitment communication plan for prospective students, including the use of email, advertising, targeting contacts, and social media
• Manage WegAdmit and process applications in both WebAdmit and Slate for degree and non-degree programs; verify all application materials have been received and assign to committees for review
• Assist with admissions-related administrative processes, including data entry and tracking of credentials
• Assist with maintaining the School’s admissions and admitted students web pages, work with staff to keep content current and engaging for prospective students
• Assist with updating and maintaining recruitment literature and information
• Assist with coordination of orientation and commencement activities and events
• Assist with preparation of student and alumni data reports
• Perform other admissions, recruitment and student affairs related tasks as assigned by the Assistant Dean for Admissions and Student Affairs

Some travel and evenings/weekends required.

• Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization
• Two years of experience working in a higher education setting
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, PPT; and comfort with learning new software and programs
• Strong written and oral communication skills, able to work independently and as part of team, be detail oriented as well as have excellent time management and organizational skills.

Preferred qualifications
• Documented knowledge of public health as a discipline
• Two years of experience working in higher education admissions
• Experience with customer relationship marketing (CRM) systems
• Experience with social media platforms, electronic communications and website design
