Penn State Erie, The Behrend College is seeking a Director of Career Services to join our team. Reporting directly to the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, the Director of Career Services is responsible for all programs, services, policies, and priorities of Penn State Behrend Career Services. This position is responsible for the management and delivery of career planning and development services programs for Penn State Behrend students and alumni. The Director oversees all functions of the Career Services operation within the Academic and Career Planning Center, including program development/delivery/evaluation, supervision of full time staff members, and budget management. Additionally, this position serves as the primary liaison to faculty, program chairs, internship coordinators, school directors, and university-wide committees to initiate and integrate career planning programs, resources, and services into academic programs. This position oversees employer engagement and recruitment efforts, including two large Career Fairs and a Graduate and Professional School Fair each year. The Director of Career Services recruits, hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates all career development professional and support staff to ensure the quality and delivery of all services. Duties also include facilitating/leading meetings with staff to disseminate information pertinent to the career services operation. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher in Counseling Psychology, Counselor Education, Student Affairs, Higher Education, or a related discipline or higher plus eight years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in working with online career management systems and teaching is a plus. The successful candidate should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the development and delivery of presentations, experience developing programs and materials, and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with an excellent possibility of re-funding.
