Basic Function:

To assist in the coordination of a designated educational or student service program. Reports to designated supervisor.

Additional Basic Function – if applicable:

The Academic Program Officer for Business Internships will administer the internship process for the College of Business Administration in coordination with faculty, employers, and students. This includes the promotion of internships and employers to students, application and registration approval process, reporting for credit and non-credit internships and assisting with on campus recruiting and engagement events as a member of the career services employer relations team.
Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:

Assist in the coordination of a designated educational program; may be responsible for a component of a program or assist in providing support to the entire program. Prepare and/or develop program/course materials and distribution of materials to appropriate parties. Provide information regarding designated program to students and faculty. Prepare and maintain mandatory program documentation and records. Participate in meetings, conferences, or special activities. Collaborate with schools, departments, colleges, faculty members, etc., regarding program(s). May supervise students and/or provide functional guidance of support staff or other employees who work on a project or assignment on a temporary or intermittent basis. Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and three months to one year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications – if applicable:

Master's degree preferred.

• Successful candidates must have excellent organization and attention to detail to administer and document a multi-step process, including excellent written and verbal communication skills with multiple people involved in process (student, faculty, employer).
• Successful candidates will have strong customer service and event-planning skills to plan, promote, and coordinate and network with employers for recruiting activities and engagements for internships.
• Successful candidates will have be able to incorporate technology and social media to promote internships, recruiting events, and services to students to aid in a successful internship search.
• Willingness and flexibility to learn and assume responsibilities for new tasks and projects related to the functions of career services.
• Preferred knowledge or previous experience in recruiting, human resources, and/or higher education.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
