Shippensburg University is currently searching for an Assistant Director of Career, Mentoring, and Professional Development Center. The Assistant Director’s main functions include:
Providing one on one career coaching and support to Shippensburg University undergraduate/ graduate students as well as alumni; assisting students in identifying academic and career goals while aligning those goals with an appropriate undergraduate degree programs; and organizing and implementing career programming. The expected starting salary is $41,526 annually.
A Bachelor’s degree and two years related experience including strong relevant experience with college students. Knowledge and understanding of developmental career advising along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a thorough knowledge of university systems, academic procedures, and student concerns are required. This position is in a very busy student service area and requires patience, flexibility, and a sincere desire to assist students. Evening and weekend hours may occasionally be required for prospective and current student events and activities. Good organizational skills and written communication skills; timeliness, cooperation, and accuracy are musts. Previous work experience should include the collection, recording, compilation, and presentation of office management or program related information. A Master’s degree is preferred.
